On Saturday night (Oct. 6, 2018) a 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck northwestern Haiti, according to theĀ US Geological Service. Fortunately for our colleagues at Hopital Sainte Croix in Leogane, there was no damage.

However, there are reported casualties nearer to the earthquake epicenter.

On behalf of the Notre Dame Haiti Program, Jean Marc Brisseau, J.D., LLM, Haiti Program Country Director, expresses deepest sympathies to the people affected in the northern region of Haiti.
